I was looking for an activity to do with my infant while her brother was at school and came across this sensory bag project by Plain Vanilla Mom several times on Pinterest. The Ladybug and I decided to change up the format a little bit, but all in all, this project was a Pinterest SUCCESS!!

What you will need:
- Flour
- Water
- Zip-loc (or other brand) heavy duty freezer bag
- Food coloring (or tempura paints)
- Duct tape
Probably the best thing about this project for parents (aside from the low mess factor) is that there really is no measuring needed --
1) Just pour some water and some flour into a Zip-loc bag.
2) Mix the flour and water in the bag until it is the right consistency.
3) Add some food coloring.
4) Close the bag and let your baby do the rest.
5) For more long-term use - I used duct tape to seal the edges.
The Ladybug had a great time exploring the bag with her hands and even more fun kicking it with her feet!
The Breakdown:
Cost: >$ -- I had all of these items on hand, but even if I hadn't, the cost would have been minimal.
Effectiveness: pretty high -- though we didn't have the ingredients for the original project, it was easy to substitute something for a similar effect.
Durability: up to us -- as long as the bag lasts!
Clean up: minimal -- contingent on use; the more the bag gets used, the more potential for leakage.
Bonus: when my preschool-aged son came home from school, he was able to take this project even further...(to be continued)
